Preparations Begin for Balochistan’s FY 2025-26 Budget; Over Rs 1 Trillion Expected

QUETTA – The Government of Balochistan has initiated preparations for the provincial budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26, which is expected to be presented on June 20. According to sources in the Balochistan Finance Department, the total budget outlay is projected to exceed Rs 1 trillion.
Sources reveal that the non-development expenditure is expected to reach Rs 800 billion, while the Provincial Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) is estimated to be around Rs 250 billion. The education sector is likely to receive Rs 170 billion, while Rs 100 billion will be allocated for health and law and order.
Salaries of government employees in the province are expected to be increased in line with federal government policies. The budget will place a strong emphasis on education and healthcare, which are being termed as top priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
To assist in budget preparation, the Finance Department has hired 12 experts on a contractual basis. The provincial government is describing the upcoming budget as a model financial plan.
