Mother of 16-Year-Old Ehsan Shah Seeks Justice After Alleged Security Forces Shooting in Mastung

Mastung (Qudrat Daily) – The grieving mother of 16-year-old Ehsan Shah, who was allegedly shot and killed by security forces earlier this month near Lakpass, held a press conference at Sarawan Press Club demanding justice for her son.

Addressing the media, she said, “I am the unfortunate mother of Shaheed Ehsan Shah, who was martyred while everyone was preparing for Eid celebrations. My son had gone to Quetta to buy Eid items, accompanied by his friend Shoaib.”

Recounting the incident, she explained that on June 3, at Ghanja Dori near Quetta, security forces stopped the vehicle her son was traveling in. After halting them, the forces allegedly opened fire. Ehsan was shot twice in the neck while his friend Shoaib was hit in the eye.

She further stated, “When my son collapsed, one of the security personnel came out of the vehicle, kicked him to turn him over, and then struck him in the chest with the barrel of a gun. After checking their belongings, the soldier told his officer that they had nothing suspicious.”

According to the mother, the injured Shoaib was later taken to Quetta in an emergency vehicle. However, she claimed he was threatened by officials not to speak about the incident or he would be denied medical treatment.

“Initially, we were falsely told that unknown assailants were responsible for my son’s death,” she said. “When my husband went to the Levies station to register an FIR, he was threatened with dire consequences, including job termination. Even when he insisted, he was told to seek permission from the Deputy Commissioner (DC). The DC too intimidated him, warning that any action could cost him his job.”

Despite repeated efforts, the FIR was not registered, prompting Ehsan’s parents to go public with their story. “We held press conferences, recorded statements, went to court, but no one listened. I’ve been going from one court to another for days. I’m not doing this out of choice – I only want justice for my innocent child,” she cried.

Ehsan Shah’s mother demanded that the killers of her son be brought to justice and publicly held accountable. “If my son had done anything wrong, prove it. Show us and the public. But stop torturing us. He was innocent. He was just a child.”

She concluded her emotional appeal with a plea to the authorities: “Stop ignoring us. Give my son the justice he deserves.”
