Lawyers Protest 26th and 27th Constitutional Amendments, Warn of Threat to Judiciary and Fundamental Rights

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** A large number of lawyers in Quetta held a protest rally against the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, led by senior lawyer Ali Ahmed Kurd. The participants stated that these amendments not only threaten the independence of the judiciary but also violate fundamental civil rights and the spirit of the Constitution.
During the protest, lawyers carried banners and placards to inform the public that the amendments seek to limit the judiciary’s role and could negatively affect citizens’ constitutional rights.
Speaking to the media, Ali Ahmed Kurd emphasized that lawyers will continue to raise their voices to protect the Constitution and judicial independence, and they will use all available legal avenues to do so. The lawyers demanded that the government immediately review the amendments to ensure the protection of judicial freedom and citizens’ fundamental rights. Representatives from various bar associations and legal organizations also attended the rally, reaffirming their commitment to raising public awareness on constitutional issues.
