Karachi Weather Update: Possibility of Light Showers Today, Intense Rainfall Expected After July 20
Karachi: Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has forecasted a likelihood of light showers across various parts of the city today, with potential for sporadic rainfall or drizzle in some areas. He attributed this to a low-pressure system moving towards Oman, which may induce cloud formation locally due to increased humidity levels. Additionally, Sarfaraz warned of significant rainfall patterns affecting Karachi after July 20, driven by revived maritime winds from the Arabian Sea.
Sarfaraz highlighted that sea breezes from the evening will become active again, promising improved weather conditions over the next three to four days. During this period, mornings and evenings could witness intermittent drizzles due to maritime clouds, with temperatures ranging between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. The heightened moisture content in the air may intensify the perceived heat, yet there will be no stifling humidity thanks to active air circulation in the city.
Meanwhile, according to the Meteorological Department, Karachi recorded a current temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, with a possibility of temperatures rising to 35 to 37 degrees Celsius today. Notably, recent days have seen diverse precipitation levels across different parts of the city, with some areas experiencing heavy downpours while others reported light rainfall. In Sargani Sector, SITE area, a tragic incident occurred where a person lost their life and another sustained injuries due to a collapsing wall amidst these weather conditions.
