Pakistan Foils Cross-Border Terrorist Infiltration, 54 Militants Killed

Lahore: Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, announced on Sunday that Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted a major infiltration attempt by foreign militants in North Waziristan. The operation, carried out along the Pak-Afghan border in the Hassan Khel area, resulted in the death of 54 terrorists, with a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives seized from the militants.**
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Minister Naqvi revealed that security forces had been closely monitoring the movement of the terrorists, and their infiltration was strategically allowed to take place before the militants were surrounded and neutralized. The operation was meticulously planned, with every second of the militants’ movements being tracked.
Naqvi also confirmed that there had been prior intelligence warnings about foreign backers urging terrorist groups to conduct attacks in Pakistan. As a result, border surveillance was intensified to prevent such infiltrations. The minister emphasized that India had been involved in encouraging these militants to carry out attacks within Pakistan, but the country’s security forces managed to foil all such conspiracies.
The Minister further stated that the Pakistani military’s efforts, including the release of images by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), provided clear evidence of foreign involvement in backing terrorist groups. Naqvi issued a stern warning to India, stating that any future attempts to incite terrorism would be met with a firm response from Pakistan.
Minister Naqvi also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to cooperating with the international community in conducting transparent investigations into the Pahalgam incident. He added that the National Security Committee had highlighted efforts to divert attention from the western border to reorganize terrorists, but these attempts have been met with failure.
He praised the security forces’ vigilance and sacrifices, calling them a source of national pride and reassuring the public that any future terrorist activities would be dealt with decisively.
This latest operation highlights Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to combat cross-border terrorism and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
