Virat Kohli Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Record with Stunning 84 Runs in Champions Trophy Semi-Final

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has surpassed legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar by achieving a significant milestone in the ICC tournaments. On Tuesday, during the Champions Trophy semi-final in Dubai, Kohli played a brilliant knock of 84 runs, leading India to a crucial 4-wicket victory over Australia and securing their spot in the final.

During his 98-ball innings, Kohli set a new world record by becoming the player with the most fifty-plus scores in ICC One-Day tournaments (World Cup, Champions Trophy). Kohli has now scored 24 fifty-plus scores in 53 innings in ICC One-Day tournaments. The previous record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, who had 23 fifty-plus scores from 58 innings.

In addition to this, Kohli has already broken Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in One-Day internationals.

On Tuesday, India defeated Australia by 4 wickets in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy in Dubai. India successfully chased down Australia’s target of 265 runs, reaching it in the 49th over with 6 wickets down, thus qualifying for the final.
