Islamabad High Court Resolves Issue Regarding Imran Khan’s Meeting with Bushra Bibi

Islamabad: During the hearing of a case regarding the non-facilitation of meetings between PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail informed the Islamabad High Court that the two are being allowed to meet every Tuesday.

The case was heard by Acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Sarfraz Dogar, regarding the contempt of court matter over the failure to allow Imran Khan to meet Bushra Bibi. During the hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Abdul Ghafoor Anjum, appeared before the court.

The court asked whether the previous court order was being implemented. In response, Superintendent Anjum assured the court that the order is being fully followed and that Imran Khan’s lawyer has been informed accordingly.

He added that although jail rules do not specifically mention the facilitation of such meetings, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being allowed to meet every Tuesday. Faisal Chaudhry, Imran Khan’s lawyer, sought reassurance that the judicial decision would be fully implemented, noting that any issues arise from other sources, not from their side. Superintendent Anjum confirmed that there were no such issues.

Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar remarked, “We are here, and we will ensure the implementation.”

Following this, the Islamabad High Court disposed of the petition after confirming that the decision was being followed.
