Imran Khan to Be Transferred from Adiala Jail to Islamabad Jail

Islamabad: The government has decided to transfer Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Islamabad Jail. Mohsin Naqvi stated that since Khan’s sentence was issued by an Islamabad court, he will be moved to the capital’s facility.
Speaking at Islamabad Police’s passing-out ceremony, Naqvi highlighted the recent efforts to strengthen the federal police, including a six-month anti-terrorism training course that was completed in just three months. He credited the officers responsible for training the recruits and mentioned ongoing upgrades to training schools in Islamabad, which will also host trainees from outside the city.
Regarding Khan, Naqvi confirmed that Islamabad Jail is being equipped with full medical facilities, and the transfer will take place once the facility is fully operational—expected within two months. He emphasized that the move aligns with legal jurisdiction, as the sentence was delivered by an Islamabad court.
