President of Pakistan Pediatrics Association Dr. Wasim Jamali Highlights Rise in Respiratory Infections in Children

Dr. Wasim Jamali, President of the Pakistan Pediatrics Association, has expressed concern over the rising cases of pneumonia, respiratory tract infections, and other diseases in children. Speaking to Geo News, Dr. Wasim revealed that over 4,000 cases of respiratory illnesses were reported at Civil Hospital from June to December.
Dr. Jamali further shared that during the same period, pneumonia was confirmed in 1,000 children at the hospital. He emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to protect children from such illnesses.
He advised parents to keep children warm, avoid exposure to cold air, and ensure proper ventilation in enclosed spaces. Dr. Jamali also stressed the importance of teaching children to wash their hands frequently and avoiding sending sick children to school. He recommended vaccination as a key preventive measure to protect children from viral infections.
