“CM Balochistan Directs All Departments to Complete Development Projects on Time”
Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sardar Faiz Baloch, has emphasized that all government departments must complete their development projects within the stipulated time frame, ensuring timely delivery of public welfare services. During a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister to review the progress of the Provincial Development Program for 2024-25, he reiterated the importance of planning and timely execution of projects, given the significant Rs 210 billion allocated for the development budget.
The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, and secretaries of various government departments. The attendees were briefed on the progress of ongoing and new development schemes. The meeting reviewed the overall progress of the projects, sector-wise authorization, disbursement of funds, and the budget utilization status.
The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over departments that had not fully utilized their allocated budgets, with some spending less than 50% of their development funds. He stressed that all departments must ensure the completion of their projects within the specified timeline and that any weak planning would hinder achieving the targets.
“We have to invest the Rs 210 billion development budget for the welfare of the people. If planning is weak, achieving the set goals will not be possible. We need to ensure physical progress on all projects before the end of the fiscal year,” stated CM Balochistan. He further instructed the departments to revise their strategies, emphasizing daily progress reports for all schemes.
In response to the sports sector, the Chief Minister directed the completion of 25 sports complexes within six months and ordered the appointment of a dedicated project director for this initiative. He also instructed the secretaries to take ownership of the projects, avoiding blame-shifting.
CM Balochistan set a deadline for next week, urging all departments to ensure the approval of unapproved schemes from the relevant forums. He reminded the secretaries that education and health were the government’s top priorities, and any delays in these sectors would not be tolerated. “Timely implementation of development projects will directly benefit the people of Balochistan,” concluded CM Balochistan.
