Maryam Nawaz Arrives in China for 8-Day Official Visit, Warm Welcome Extended

Beijing: Maryam Nawaz, the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, has arrived in China for an 8-day official visit. She was warmly welcomed at Beijing Airport, where she was presented with a bouquet. Senior officials from the Communist Party of China (CPC), including Deputy Director General Lin Tao, South Asian Affairs Consul Mrs. Li Jinyuan, and other high-ranking officials were present to greet her and her delegation. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, and his wife, along with officials from the Pakistani embassy, also attended the welcome ceremony.
During her visit, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the Pakistan-China friendship is reaching new heights, and that she aims to work with China to elevate Punjab’s economic and developmental prospects. She expressed her commitment to advancing economic cooperation between Punjab and China.
In a meeting with senior members of the CPC, the head of the Chinese delegation expressed heartfelt gratitude for the visit and appreciated the presence of the Chief Minister and her team.
Maryam Nawaz is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bakari, and other key figures.
The official engagements of the Punjab Chief Minister will begin tomorrow, with planned visits to hospitals, schools, and other institutions in China, as part of the ongoing collaboration between the two countries.
