Iran Ceasefire Deal May Include Strait Revenue Plan, Analysts Say

According to reports from a news agency, the ceasefire arrangement involving Iran includes a provision under which Iran and Oman would collect fees from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The funds generated from these maritime charges are expected to be used by Iran for post-conflict reconstruction, the report added. Analysts suggest that if implemented, such an arrangement could be seen as a significant strategic and economic gain for Iran.
However, the report also noted that Oman’s specific plans and role within this framework remain unclear, leaving questions about how the mechanism would be structured and enforced.
Experts caution that while the proposal appears promising for Iran, its success would depend on international acceptance and the practical challenges of regulating one of the world’s most critical shipping routes.
