We Said Meetings With Imran Khan Are His Constitutional and Legal Right; They Say Sign the Military Operation, I Will Not Sign: Sohail Afridi
Peshawar (Qudrat Daily): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that we said meetings with Imran Khan are his constitutional and legal right. They say sign the military operation — I will not sign! I swear by God that I will stake my life but will not accept their policy. I will stand with my people.
Addressing participants of the long march in Peshawar, he said that Imran Khan gave us an identity after 78 years. They always considered tribals as insects. Imran Khan administratively merged us into KP in 2018, but to date they have not merged us financially. Our Rs100 billion annually is not being given to us. Our IDPs who were displaced during military operations — from 2006 to 2026 — were displaced in their so-called war.
Our women whose heads’ hair no one had even seen were left wandering on the streets. Those people who themselves used to give zakat were forced to beg because of their wrong policy. Pakistan was pushed into a so-called war and made a sacrificial goat. Imran Khan opposed the military operation in 2004, but this mindset is still stuck there. Now they want another military operation to be carried out; they say impose emergency. I am the Chief Minister of KP; I will not implement any policy that is against my people under any circumstances. This terrorism has been imposed on us again.
We said this is a failed policy. He said that negotiations were underway politically, but meetings with Imran Khan have been stopped. Imran Khan was super fit; he has been deliberately made ill in jail. His wife is in jail, and his sisters have been picked up. We were saying that this is his constitutional and legal right. They say sign the military operation — I will not. I will not accept the policy that is against my province. I will stand with my people.

I say, come! I will give a policy — I will show you peace here within 100 days. But your intention is not to bring peace here. Because you are an enemy of the Pashtuns. There is one sitting outside who considers the people of KP as sheep and goats.
