Talal Chaudhry Says Imran Khan Does Not Want to Go to Hospital, Shahzeb Khanzada Comments on His Health

ISLAMABAD: An important discussion regarding the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his reported decision not to go to hospital took place during journalist Shahzeb Khanzada’s programme.

During the programme, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry claimed that Imran Khan had told his sister during a meeting that he did not want to go to hospital.

When Shahzeb Khanzada asked whether Imran Khan was refusing to go to hospital, Talal Chaudhry confirmed the claim, saying that the PTI founder was “completely fine and fit” and had himself chosen not to go to hospital.

Commenting on the development, Khanzada observed that people in Pakistan’s political history had sometimes gone to hospitals even without being seriously ill.

He said that Imran Khan was currently in solitary confinement and had a blood pressure issue, while there had previously been an impression that he would not be able to endure prolonged solitary confinement.

Khanzada questioned whether Imran Khan’s reported decision to refuse hospitalisation despite his circumstances should be viewed as something to his credit.

The discussion comes amid continuing political debate over Imran Khan’s health and conditions during his incarceration.
