NP leaders condemn alleged humiliation of Turbat hospital doctors, violence against paramedics
TURBAT: National Party president and former Balochistan chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and central leader Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi have strongly condemned the alleged humiliation of doctors at Turbat Teaching Hospital by security forces and violence against paramedical staff, expressing complete solidarity with doctors, paramedics and journalists.
In a joint statement, they said movement across Kech, particularly in Turbat city, had been severely affected for the past four days and that road closures had created hardships for citizens.
They alleged that not only patients going to the hospital but also doctors and paramedical staff were not allowed to reach the teaching hospital — a situation they described as highly alarming. Denial of access to medical staff, they said, risked disrupting basic health facilities and required immediate redress.
The NP leaders also condemned alleged mistreatment of local journalists by a particular group of reporters during a visit to Turbat Press Club, saying journalists must be given a free environment and due respect while performing their duties.
Security institutions, they said, must ensure respect for officers of responsible government departments, doctors, medical staff, journalists and ordinary citizens. Insulting behaviour towards citizens or professionals was unacceptable in any circumstances.
They said the alleged incidents involving doctors, paramedics and journalists deserved the strongest condemnation. They demanded a review of the events, identification of those responsible and effective measures to prevent such incidents in future.
Expressing full solidarity with doctors, paramedical staff and the journalist community, they said the National Party stands with professionals and the public at every difficult stage and will continue to play its role in protecting citizens’ basic rights, dignity and professional freedom.
