Panjgur Bank Heist a Slap in the Face of Administration; Killers Must Be Arrested Within 24 Hours or Face Public Backlash: Citizens Action Committee

*Panjgur (Daily Qudrat):* The All Parties Citizens Action Committee Panjgur has expressed grave concern and strong anger over the rising incidents of targeted killings, kidnappings, theft, and armed robberies in the district, warning of a public reaction if the authorities fail to act immediately.

A spokesperson of the committee said that the kidnapping and subsequent martyrdom of a CTD official two days ago, followed by an unprecedented daylight robbery at three banks in Panjgur—resulting in the martyrdom of a police officer and a civilian passerby—are extremely tragic and alarming incidents.

The spokesperson stated that armed groups are freely kidnapping and killing young people and looting banks in busy markets using heavy weapons, while the administration has completely failed to stop them. He recalled that during a recent public jirga, all responsible authorities had assured that armed groups would disappear and incidents of robbery would cease, but the ground realities have proven otherwise.

He termed today’s incident a “forceful slap in the face of the administration” and an open challenge, demanding that the killers and robbers be arrested and brought to justice within 24 hours. “If this does not happen, the administration will have to face a strong public reaction,” he warned.

The spokesperson stressed that protecting the lives and property of citizens is the primary responsibility of the government and administration, but institutions appear to be merely buying time instead of fulfilling their duties.

He urged the public to remain united, vigilant, and ready to confront negative forces, emphasizing that in the current situation people may have to take responsibility for their own safety as state institutions have become silent spectators. He added that despite the heavy presence of FC and police personnel in Panjgur, such incidents clearly reflect negligence and irresponsibility on the part of law enforcement agencies.

In conclusion, the Citizens Action Committee demanded an immediate and ruthless crackdown against killers, thieves, and armed groups, warning that otherwise the public would be left free to make decisions for their own protection.
