Iran Will Not Bow to Threats, President Pezeshkian Says
TEHRAN:Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that if peace and stability are to be established in the world, they will emerge from the region itself.
Addressing a ceremony in Tehran, Pezeshkian said no one could force a nation that stood firmly with full strength and determination to surrender.
“We did not start the war, nor do we seek war, but we will stand with full force against any aggressor,” the Iranian president said, stressing that Iran would not bow to threats.
Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has described new regional agreements as the beginning of a new era in which neighboring Muslim countries would rely on their own capabilities for security rather than depending on external powers.
According to Iranian media, in a message issued on the occasion of Unity Week, Ghalibaf said recent developments in the region had demonstrated that external powers could not provide lasting security to Muslim countries.
He said the foundation of regional security should be based on the will, mutual cooperation and collective efforts of Muslim countries themselves.
Ghalibaf further said recent events had also highlighted the benefits of Muslim unity. Cooperation among Muslims, he added, had helped defeat the enemy and push back attempts to establish dominance in the region.
