Diplomatic Activity Intensifies in Türkiye as PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets Hakan Fidan

Antalya: Amid ongoing global diplomatic engagements in Türkiye, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a key meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss evolving regional dynamics, particularly developments surrounding a potential peace agreement between the United States and Iran.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where global leaders and senior officials have gathered from April 17 to 19 to address pressing international challenges under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World.”
According to Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry, both leaders exchanged views on efforts to reduce tensions and advance dialogue between Washington and Tehran, as major powers appear increasingly engaged in pushing for renewed negotiations.
Sources indicate that a significant बैठक involving the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt is also expected during the forum. The discussions are likely to focus on regional security and the next phase of US-Iran talks.

There are also reports suggesting that negotiating teams from the United States and Iran may revisit Islamabad for further dialogue aimed at reaching a final agreement to end hostilities.
While earlier rounds of negotiations did not yield a breakthrough, both sides have signaled willingness to continue talks. In this context, the role of regional countries, including Pakistan and Türkiye, is becoming increasingly significant.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a two-day visit and had earlier traveled to Saudi Arabia and Qatar before arriving in Türkiye.
