Eight Militants Killed in Security Operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung, ISPR Says

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces killed eight militants during separate intelligence-based operations in the Balochistan districts of Kharan and Mastung, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Saturday.
According to the ISPR, the operations were conducted on June 25 and 26 against what it described as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” a term the military uses for militant groups it alleges are backed by India.
In the first operation, security forces tracked the movement of a group of militants in Kharan. The ISPR said troops engaged the suspects in a timely and effective operation, killing three militants and injuring several others.
In a separate intelligence-based operation carried out on June 26 in Mastung, security forces acted on information regarding the presence of a suspected suicide bomber. The military said troops targeted a militant hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire.
According to the ISPR, five militants, including a suspected suicide bomber, were killed during the operation.
The military did not report any casualties among security personnel, and no independent verification of the claims was immediately available.
