Flood Devastation in Qila Saifullah, Victims Await Relief: Maulana Abdul Wasay Demands Emergency Assistance and Transparent Survey

Quetta: Severe floods in Qila Saifullah have caused widespread destruction, leaving thousands of families displaced and waiting for government relief, according to local reports.
Maulana Abdul Wasay, Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan Balochistan and a senator, visited the affected areas, including Bandat Musa Zai, Bandat Fatozai, Mirzai, Ismailzai, and surrounding regions, to assess the damage and meet flood-affected families.
During the visit, officials from the Deputy Commissioner’s office and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) briefed him on the scale of destruction. The senator also listened to the grievances of victims and assured them of full support.
Speaking to the media, Maulana Abdul Wasay said that the recent floods have caused massive destruction in the region, damaging homes, crops, and infrastructure. He noted that thousands of families have been rendered homeless.
He urged the provincial government to provide immediate financial assistance to affected families, announce a special package for the reconstruction of destroyed houses, and ensure proper temporary shelters for displaced people.
He also called for a transparent assessment of agricultural losses and timely compensation for farmers to help them restore their livelihoods. Additionally, he stressed the urgent restoration of basic facilities such as roads, clean drinking water, electricity, and healthcare services in the affected areas.
Maulana Abdul Wasay emphasized the need for transparency in relief operations, stating that aid must reach all affected families without discrimination or delay.
He reaffirmed his commitment to raising the issue at every forum until full rehabilitation of the flood victims is achieved.
