US Rejects Israel’s Request to Access Details of Iran Agreement

WASHINGTON/JERUSALEM:The United States has reportedly rejected Israel’s formal request to review the details of a memorandum of understanding reached with Iran, according to Israeli media reports.
Israeli media said that Israeli officials had sought access to the agreement but were denied by Washington, which reportedly described the matter as a sensitive national security issue.
The decision has reportedly surprised Israeli officials, who viewed the refusal as unusual given the close strategic relationship between the two countries.
The development comes after details of a 14-point draft framework between the United States and Iran were made public.
According to Iran’s state news agency, the draft provides for the lifting of the US naval blockade within 30 days of implementation. It also includes the suspension of sanctions on Iran’s oil and petrochemical exports.
The proposed framework further calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon.
Under the draft, the United States and its allies would contribute at least $300 billion toward Iran’s reconstruction efforts. However, Iran’s missile program and its support for regional resistance groups are not included in the final agreement.
The draft also stipulates the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets during the negotiation process, while the United States would unfreeze $12 billion before the finalization of talks.
In addition, the agreement envisages formal endorsement through a resolution of the United Nations Security Council, giving the deal international legal backing.
Neither Washington nor Tehran has officially confirmed all of the reported provisions, and further details are expected as negotiations move toward a final agreement.
