China Sends Strong Message to the U.S.: Pressure on Tariffs Not Accepted, Ready to Fight to the Last Limit

Beijing: China has warned the United States that if Washington does not change its stance, China is prepared to take the trade war to the furthest extent. In a statement, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce made it clear that China cannot be coerced or intimidated by blackmail, pressure, or threats.
The spokesperson emphasized that while challenges faced by China have increased, its capacity for foreign trade remains intact, and it will take effective measures to tackle the uncertainties.
China urged the U.S. to engage in dialogue, but only on the basis of mutual respect and equality. The spokesperson stressed that protectionism and unilateral decisions are not in the best interests of the world.
It is worth noting that in recent days, former President Donald Trump increased tariffs on China to 125%, up from the previous 104%. In response, China imposed a 84% tariff on U.S. products.
The trade war began with the “Liberation Day Tariffs,” after which both countries started imposing retaliatory actions and sanctions. China warned that if the U.S. takes further steps, it will respond with even harsher countermeasures.
