Saudi Arabia Responds Firmly to Trump’s Call for Abraham Accords Expansion

Riyadh / Washington / Islamabad (KNN) — Saudi Arabia has issued a firm response following US President Donald Trump’s call for Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, to join the Abraham Accords.

According to American media outlet CNN, Saudi Arabia has reiterated that normalization of relations with Israel remains conditional upon the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The Kingdom maintained that it cannot become part of the Abraham Accords until a sovereign Palestinian state is created.

Earlier, President Donald Trump, in a post on X, urged all Muslim countries to immediately sign the Abraham Accords. He specifically called on Saudi Arabia and Qatar to take the lead, adding that only “one or two countries” refusing to join could be tolerated.

Trump stated that if Iran agreed to a ceasefire arrangement and broader diplomatic settlement, it would be an honor to include Tehran in the Abraham Accords as well. He claimed that Iran’s inclusion could transform the Middle East into one of the world’s strongest and most economically powerful regions.

The US president said the accords had already brought financial, economic, and social benefits to member states despite regional tensions and conflict. The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are already signatories to the agreements, while Sudan and Morocco have also joined the framework.

Trump further claimed that negotiations with Iran were progressing positively and warned that failure to reach an agreement could result in renewed conflict. He added that US representatives had been instructed to begin efforts to encourage more Muslim countries to join the accords.

The American president also cautioned that countries unwilling to join the Abraham Accords should not expect to be part of any future agreement with Iran, arguing that refusal to participate would indicate “bad intentions.”

He emphasized that the United States had invested significant diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region and described normalization with Israel as the “natural next step” for Middle Eastern peace and cooperation.
