China-Pakistan Relations Are a Model of Trusted Partnership, Digital Silk Route the Need of the Hour: Balochistan Governor

Quetta/Beijing (Qudrat Daily) — Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said that despite major political and economic changes at the global level, China and Pakistan remain each other’s most reliable partners, emphasizing that stronger public trust and technology-based cooperation are essential for further deepening bilateral ties.

He expressed these views while addressing the China-Pakistan Political Parties Forum held in Beijing. The event was attended by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chinese Communist Party International Department head Liu Haixing, Vice Minister Sun Haiyan, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and leaders from various political parties.

The Balochistan governor said that throughout his nearly four-decade-long political career, he had always supported a “future based on public welfare,” adding that the concept of “General Will” still remained central to good governance and progressive politics.

He noted that the signing of a party-to-party memorandum of understanding between Ishaq Dar and Chinese leader Liu Haixing marked an important step toward strengthening the shared future of both countries.

Mandokhail said China could demonstrate practical cooperation by providing scholarships for Balochistan’s youth, supporting public sector universities, and creating trade opportunities. According to him, meaningful employment opportunities were the fastest way to build mutual trust.

He stressed the need for a new public-level political discourse, stating that political parties serve as an important bridge between the people and the state. He added that public confidence and credibility were essential for countering false narratives and promoting Pakistan-China relations.

The governor said Pakistan and China had established a lasting partnership covering trade, infrastructure, energy, education, and defense, while both countries were also working together at the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to safeguard the interests of developing nations.

He proposed reviving the ancient Silk Road in the form of a “Digital Silk Route,” saying that digital connectivity, artificial intelligence, and green technologies could play a key role in taking the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into its next phase.

Mandokhail further said that policies based on facts and public interests were necessary to ensure sustainable development. He also appreciated the forum’s efforts to strengthen high-level political trust between Pakistan and China and thanked Ishaq Dar and other leaders for their active participation.
