Foreign Nationals and 20 Women in Anmol Pinky Drug Network: Karachi Police Chief

Karachi: Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan has revealed that the drug network of alleged cocaine dealer Anmol alias Pinky includes foreign nationals and at least 20 women based in Lahore.

Addressing a press briefing at the Central Police Office Karachi, the Karachi Police Chief said that the suspect was arrested on May 12 during a joint intelligence operation conducted by police and intelligence agencies. He added that 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 7 kilograms of hazardous chemicals, and a 9mm pistol were recovered from her possession, and a case was registered at Garden Police Station.

He stated that investigation of the suspect’s mobile phone revealed significant data, including 869 contacts, of which 639 numbers have been geo-traced. Financial investigations have so far uncovered transactions worth Rs30 million.

According to the police chief, the network used nine dedicated riders—eight of them reportedly based in Punjab—to transport drugs to Karachi and other cities.

He further disclosed that around 20 women operating from Lahore were part of the network, while foreign nationals were also involved in drug import and processing activities.

The network has been divided into two categories: one involving drug-dependent individuals used for distribution tasks, and the other comprising major suppliers.

Additional IG Azad Khan said that the accused is linked to nine separate cases, adding that the network operated in a highly organized manner. He claimed that law enforcement agencies have tightened the noose around all members of the syndicate, and more arrests are expected soon.

He also confirmed that the Counter Terrorism Department has joined the investigation to examine potential terror-financing links. Meanwhile, three police officers have been suspended over negligence, and an inquiry is underway.
