Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — An important meeting was held with the Director General of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in Balochistan and the Adviser for Sports and Youth Affairs, Ms. Mena Majid.
During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the progress of BISP initiatives and various welfare programmes across Balochistan.
The briefing was attended by DG BISP Balochistan Dr. Jalal Faiz, Deputy Director NSER Maqsood Ahmed Baloch, and Assistant Director BISP Balochistan Raza Muhammad Somro.
Officials were informed that more than 520,000 deserving beneficiaries are currently receiving assistance under the Benazir Kafalat Programme in Balochistan. In addition, 48 district and tehsil offices and 117 Dynamic Registration Centres are actively operating across the province.
Under the Waseela-e-Taleem programme, more than 640,000 children are enrolled, while under the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, over 291,000 beneficiaries are being served through 89 facilitation centres.
The meeting was also briefed that under the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER), 85 percent population coverage has been completed in Balochistan, while 89 percent of existing beneficiary re-certifications have also been finalized.
Updates were also shared regarding the Prime Minister’s Cashless Economy and E-Wallet initiative, aimed at promoting a transparent, secure, and digital financial system for deserving families.
Adviser for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mena Majid Baloch, appreciated the services and efforts of BISP across Balochistan and emphasized that since the government of Balochistan has officially granted district status to Tump, it should also be formally notified as a district within the BISP administrative structure.
She stressed that this step would further improve service delivery and ensure better access for beneficiaries, while also enabling more eligible families from Tump to be included in welfare programmes.
The DG BISP agreed with the proposal and assured that steps would be taken to implement it.
