Closure of Border Trade Is an Anti-People Policy; Regulation and Facilitation Are the Solution: Dr Abdul Malik Baloch

**Turbat (Qudrat Daily):** Head of the National Party, **Dr Abdul Malik Baloch**, met a delegation of the **Border Trade Committee** at the National Party Turbat Secretariat, where the delegation briefed him in detail on the severe economic hardships, rising unemployment, and negative impact on daily life caused by the closure of border routes.

Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that **border trade is a fundamental source of livelihood for the people of Balochistan**, where employment opportunities are already limited. He emphasized that **thousands of families depend on cross-border trade**, and its closure is tantamount to pushing people towards **hunger and economic deprivation**.

He noted that across the world, borders are utilized for **legal trade, employment, and economic development**, but in Balochistan, legitimate and lawful public trade is being labeled as smuggling and shut down, which he described as a **clear injustice and an anti-people policy**.

The former chief minister stated that the solution to border trade challenges lies **not in closures**, but in **regulation, facilitation, and people-friendly measures**. He assured the delegation of the National Party’s **full support** and said the party would continue to raise its voice in favor of the committee’s legitimate demands at **every constitutional, democratic, and political forum**.

Dr Abdul Malik Baloch reaffirmed that the **National Party will continue its struggle** for the protection and restoration of border trade and the **economic rights of the people**, and expressed full support for the Border Trade Committee’s protest movement.
