Pakistani Passport Services Suspended Due to Technical Fault in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Pakistani passport services have been temporarily suspended in the United Arab Emirates due to a major technical issue, according to reports.
The suspension affects the Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, where passport processing services were halted because of technical and maintenance-related problems, as reported by Gulf News.

Officials confirmed that the online passport system experienced a sudden malfunction on Wednesday morning, forcing an immediate shutdown of all in-person passport services. The disruption has brought all passport-related operations to a complete standstill, with no official timeline announced for restoration.
A senior official stated that Pakistan’s passport services have been affected in several countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf states, with overseas Pakistani communities facing the greatest impact.
A spokesperson from the mission said that services could potentially resume by Thursday if the technical issues are resolved. The embassy further clarified that the suspension was due to system failures and routine maintenance requirements affecting operational functionality.
Applicants have been advised to avoid visiting embassy or consulate offices during the suspension period and to use the online passport application system where possible. Those unable to access digital services have been asked to wait for further instructions.
The embassy assured the community that updates will be provided once services are restored. It also noted that the mission will remain closed on Friday, May 1, 2026, for Labour Day and will reopen on Monday, May 4, 2026.
