PM Shehbaz Sharif Reschedules Middle East Tour for Key Talks on Regional Peace and Hormuz Tensions

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rescheduled his planned visits to key regional allies—Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey—as part of intensified diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace in the region.
According to sources, the revised itinerary will see the premier visit Saudi Arabia first, followed by Qatar and then Turkey. The high-level tour is aimed at holding consultations with friendly nations on the rapidly evolving regional situation.
Key issues expected to be discussed include the potential blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by the US Navy and the future course of negotiations between the United States and Iran, particularly the next round of talks linked to Islamabad.
Sources further revealed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his visit. The meeting is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as discussing regional and global security challenges.
The leaders are also likely to exchange views on recent developments in the Islamabad-hosted negotiations and explore coordinated efforts to ensure stability in the Middle East.
The rescheduled visit underscores Pakistan’s active diplomatic role in addressing rising tensions and facilitating dialogue among key regional and global stakeholders.
