Islamabad High Court to Hear Major Case Involving Imran Khan Tomorrow

**Islamabad:** The Islamabad High Court is scheduled to hear a significant case related to former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan tomorrow, January 21. The case pertains to a petition regarding the suspension of his former X (formerly Twitter) account.

The hearing, filed by citizen Arbab Muhammad Tahir Ghulum Murtaza, is expected to cover key issues relating to freedom of expression, fundamental rights, and digital laws. Notices have already been issued to the National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCA) and other relevant parties, directing them to submit written responses so that all legal aspects of the matter can be reviewed.

In its previous written order, the court noted that officials from Adiala Jail have already submitted their reply, while other parties were instructed to provide their responses within the stipulated timeframe. The court emphasized that, due to the sensitive nature of the case, the positions of all concerned institutions must be on record.

Imran Khan is being represented by renowned lawyer Salman Akram Raja, while the petitioner’s counsel, Barrister Zafarullah, will present arguments on behalf of Arbab Muhammad Tahir Ghulum Murtaza.

Legal experts say the case will involve crucial discussions on the closure of social media accounts, state authority, and the constitutional rights of citizens. The case is being closely watched in political and legal circles, as its outcome could set a precedent for future social media regulation policies in Pakistan.
