LPG Prices Surge in Quetta as Gas Supply Suspension Triggers Artificial Hike

Quetta: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have surged sharply in Quetta after the suspension of natural gas supply, with citizens accusing profiteers of exploiting the situation.
According to market sources, LPG prices in the city have increased from Rs380 to Rs400 per kilogram, while in suburban areas rates have climbed as high as Rs430 per kilogram. The spike follows a disruption in gas supply caused by a pipeline explosion on the Western Bypass, forcing residents to shift to LPG as an alternative fuel.
Dealers claim that the price hike is due to increased demand and reduced supply. However, residents argue that the sudden surge reflects artificial inflation by hoarders and profiteers, worsening their financial burden during an already difficult situation.
Public circles have urged the district administration to take immediate action against hoarders and price manipulators, calling for strict measures to control LPG prices and ensure relief for consumers
