Saudi Arabia Announces Eid-ul-Fitr on March 20 After Moon Sighting Confirmation

Saudi Arabia’s Crescent Sighting Committee has confirmed that the moon of Shawwal was not sighted, and therefore Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, according to Arab media reports.
Earlier, the Saudi Supreme Court had urged citizens to participate in moon sighting. The court requested that anyone who sees the crescent, either with the naked eye or through a telescope, should report their observation to the nearest court. Citizens can also contact local administrative centers to communicate their testimony to judicial authorities.
