Rain Expected Across Pakistan During Eid; Karachi Likely to Remain Hot and Dry

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority has forecast rain with thunderstorms in various parts of the country from today until March 25, issuing an alert for changing weather conditions.

According to NDMA, rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

In Balochistan, dust storms, strong winds, and rain are expected from today until March 23. Meanwhile, light rain is also likely at isolated locations in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Dadu. Authorities have advised provincial and district administrations to remain alert.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department also confirmed that a system of western winds is entering the country from tonight, which will bring rain to many regions. Between March 18 and 20, most districts of Punjab are expected to receive rainfall, with chances of hailstorms at some places.

The department added that while weather will remain mostly dry in many parts of Punjab, areas including Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, and Mianwali may experience partly cloudy conditions with strong winds, dust storms, and thunderstorms during evening and night hours.

In Lahore, continuous rainfall over the next two days is expected to make the weather pleasant, with further showers likely within the next 24 hours. Temperatures are also expected to drop during Eid days following the rain.

Karachi Weather Outlook:
According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi is expected to experience hot and dry weather over the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature may range between 34°C and 36°C.

The minimum temperature recorded today was 23.5°C, with humidity at 79%. Winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 4 km/h.
