Farooq Abdullah Survives Assassination Attempt in Jammu; Firing Video Emerges

Jammu: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a wedding ceremony in Jammu, Indian-administered Kashmir.
Eyewitnesses said that attendees quickly overpowered the attacker immediately after the incident. Videos circulating on social media show the enraged crowd restraining and assaulting the suspect.

Police have identified the assailant as 65-year-old Kaml Jamwal, a resident of Old Market, who was immediately taken into custody.
During initial questioning, the suspect claimed that he had been waiting for nearly 20 years for an opportunity to target Abdullah.
Security agencies have cordoned off the area for further investigation, and Abdullah has been moved to a secure location under tight protection.
