Over 20,000 Civilian Buildings, 77 Medical Centers, and 65 Schools Severely Damaged in Iran: Red Crescent

Tehran: The Iranian Red Crescent Society has reported that during over 11 days of conflict, approximately 20,000 civilian buildings have been affected, including at least 16,000 residential units.
Spokesperson Mojtaba Khaledi told Al Jazeera that 77 medical centers across the country have also been damaged, with some hit while patients were undergoing surgeries or other medical treatments. Some of the affected medical facilities have been temporarily closed, preventing patient admissions.
Khaledi added that 16 Iranian Red Crescent centers have been impacted, forcing relief personnel to relocate to continue rescue operations in other areas. Additionally, 65 schools and educational institutions across the country have suffered damage, with several sustaining severe destruction.
Officials highlighted the deadliest incident so far occurred on the first day of the conflict at a primary school in Minab, southern Iran, where 167 people were killed, the majority being students.
The Red Crescent continues to provide emergency assistance and is working to address the widespread humanitarian needs resulting from the ongoing conflict.
