London Mayor Sadiq Khan Knighted by King Charles in Buckingham Palace Ceremony

London:British Pakistani politician and **three-time elected Mayor of London**, **Sadiq Khan**, has been **awarded a knighthood** by **King Charles III**, recognising his distinguished public service.
The ceremony took place at **Buckingham Palace**, where **King Charles personally conferred the honour** on Sadiq Khan, now officially titled **”Sir Sadiq Khan”**.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Sir Sadiq Khan expressed deep pride and gratitude, saying:
> “Receiving the knighthood from His Majesty the King was a deeply humbling and proud moment. As someone who grew up in a council estate in Tooting, I could never have imagined receiving such an honour.”
Sir Sadiq Khan has served as **Mayor of London since 2016**, and in May 2024, he made history by becoming the **first person ever elected to the role for a third consecutive term**.
The knighthood marks a significant milestone in Khan’s career, celebrating not only his leadership of one of the world’s most prominent cities but also his journey from modest beginnings to the heights of British public life.
