US Senate Rejects War Powers Resolution Seeking to Limit Trump’s Military Action Against Iran

Washington, D.C.:** The **United States Senate** has rejected a key War Powers resolution aimed at forcing **Donald Trump**, the President of the **United States**, to halt ongoing military operations against **Iran** and restrict further strikes without approval from **United States Congress**.

The resolution was defeated by a **53–47 vote**, effectively allowing the president to continue military actions against Iran without additional congressional authorization.

According to U.S. media reports, the resolution was led by **Tim Kaine** and supported by 26 other senators. However, Republican lawmakers largely opposed the measure and blocked it from advancing.

**Rand Paul** was the only Republican senator who supported the resolution, while Democratic Senator **John Fetterman** voted against it.

The Senate session saw intense debate, with Democrats arguing that Congress must retain control over decisions of war and peace and warning that a single president should not have unchecked authority to initiate military conflict.

Senator **Adam Schiff** said the resolution was not only about preventing war but also about maintaining a balance on presidential powers.

Republican lawmakers, however, defended the president’s military actions, saying they were necessary for national security.
