PM Launches Rs38 Billion Ramzan Relief Package 2026, Announces Rs13,000 for Each Eligible Family

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the “Ramzan Relief Package 2026,” announcing that Rs13,000 will be distributed to every eligible family across the country.
The prime minister inaugurated the Rs38 billion package by pressing a button at a ceremony in Islamabad. Under the initiative, cash transfers to 12.1 million deserving families have begun immediately.
Addressing the ceremony, Shehbaz Sharif said that the Rs38 billion will be disbursed to beneficiaries in the federal capital, all four provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, through digital wallets and digital bank accounts to ensure transparency and efficiency.
He stated that each eligible family will receive Rs13,000 during the holy month of Ramzan without discrimination. More than 2.1 million families who are not currently part of any government-sponsored welfare program will also receive payments under this package.
Additionally, Rs10 billion has been allocated for one million families already enrolled in government support programs, bringing the total number of beneficiary families to 12.1 million. The overall number of individuals benefiting from the package is expected to reach approximately 60 million.
The prime minister also announced the discontinuation of the old system of distributing subsidized goods through Utility Stores, citing poor quality and long queues that caused inconvenience to the public.
A high-level committee comprising federal ministers will oversee the implementation of the Ramzan package, while a dedicated helpline (9999) has been established to address public complaints promptly.
Speaking at the event, Secretary of the Benazir Income Support Programme, Aamir Ali, said that the relief package has been designed on the prime minister’s special instructions to provide dignified and transparent assistance to deserving segments of society. He noted that under the 2025 Ramzan package, each eligible family received Rs5,000, which has now been increased to Rs13,000 for 2026 on the prime minister’s directive.
