Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Says Province Free from Terrorism, Eyes Clearing Kacha Criminals

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister **Murad Ali Shah** has stated that the province has been largely freed from terrorism and vowed to eliminate criminal elements in the Kacha areas as well.
Speaking at a passing-out ceremony of police trainees in Saeedabad, CM Shah praised the Sindh Police for their extensive operations against terrorism and crime, saying the province’s current peace is a result of the bravery of police officers and personnel.
He recalled that a few days ago in Dadu, three brave policemen were martyred, highlighting the courage demonstrated by officers and personnel over the past months. He also mentioned the martyrdom of **DSP Ali Raza** of the CTD in Karachi.
CM Shah noted past incidents, including attacks by terrorists on the Chinese consulate in Karachi, where constables were martyred. He provided statistics, stating that from January to December last year, 1,325 police encounters took place, resulting in the deaths of 207 criminals. This year, from January 1 to date, 115 encounters have occurred, killing 27 criminals and injuring 82. Police have arrested 81 criminals, and 153 surrendered voluntarily.
“Hopefully, the Sindh Police will continue to act with the same bravery to eliminate the Kacha criminals,” Murad Ali Shah said. “There was a time when terrorists killed several people daily, bomb blasts occurred frequently, and target killings were common. But now, we have largely eradicated terrorism here. Terrorist incidents continue in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but Sindh has achieved relative peace.”
