Islamabad Is Already an Administrative Unit, Says Senator Kamran Murtaza

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Senator Kamran Murtaza has said that Islamabad is already an administrative unit, adding that if further administrative burdens are to be placed on it, “then let them do so.”

Speaking on the issue of new administrative units, Kamran Murtaza said that if legislation regarding the creation of new administrative units was presented before Parliament, JUI-F would formulate its position after examining the proposed text and the prevailing circumstances.

The JUI-F leader also called for avoiding further political tensions and stressed the need for all political parties and state institutions to remain within their constitutional limits.

Expressing concern over the country’s economic situation, Kamran Murtaza also raised questions regarding the growing burden of loans and government expenditures.

He stressed that eliminating the interest-based financial system and reducing government expenditure were essential steps for improving the country’s economic situation.

The senator reiterated that all institutions and political forces should respect the Constitution and work within their respective constitutional boundaries.
