Nationwide Public Campaign to Be Launched After Eid, Says Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has announced that a nationwide public campaign will be launched after Eid-ul-Fitr. He made the remarks while addressing the media alongside Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, following their meeting in Islamabad.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the two leaders held consultations on various national and international issues and agreed to continue their coordination. He criticized the proposed “Peace Board” meeting scheduled for February 19, claiming it was an attempt to bypass the United Nations and challenge its relevance.

He strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of committing atrocities against Palestinians. He questioned the government’s decision to participate in such forums, warning that joining hands with Israel under the pretext of peace would be unacceptable.

Fazlur Rehman stated that if the rulers insist on what he termed “American subservience,” his party would take to the streets to protect national sovereignty. He announced that JUI-F will hold a public rally in Mardan on March 12 as part of its protest campaign.

Criticizing Pakistan’s foreign policy, he said the country’s relations with neighboring states, including India and Afghanistan, have deteriorated. He urged dialogue with Afghanistan and Iran to address regional security concerns and militant activities.

The JUI-F chief also expressed opposition to the possibility of Pakistan joining any international stabilization force, alleging that such a force would operate under US command. He recalled that Pakistan had previously refused to send troops to Iraq and said similar decisions could be made again.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman voiced concern over US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace initiative, saying his party is worried about Pakistan’s reported membership in the Peace Board, which includes Israel. He questioned whether the government intends to recognize Israel and warned against sending Pakistani forces to Gaza under any international arrangement.

He added that discussions also covered the law and order situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing that Pakistan should avoid becoming part of any conflict that does not serve its national interest.
