PkMAP Condemns Crackdown Against Grand Alliance, Expresses Concern Over Loadshedding, Gas Crisis, and Raids in Quetta

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily):**
The district executives of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Quetta held a meeting at the party’s central secretariat under the chairmanship of Provincial Senior Vice President and Quetta District Secretary Syed Sharaf Agha. The meeting reviewed the party’s organizational performance and finalized its future course of action.

Participants discussed preparations for the nationwide shutter-down and wheel-jam strike scheduled for February 8 under the banner of the Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan. It was also decided to immediately convene conferences of the remaining regional units in Quetta.

The meeting was attended by Central Additional Finance Secretary Agha Syed Liaqat Ali, Central Secretary Dr Hameed Khan Achakzai, Provincial General Secretary Kabir Afghan, Provincial Office Secretary Malik Umar Kakar, and Provincial Deputy Secretaries Iqbal Khan Battezai, Nawabzada Asfandyar Kakar, and Hafeez Tareen. It was announced that a meeting of the PkMAP Quetta District Committee will be held on February 1 (Sunday) at 2:30 pm.

The participants strongly condemned the government crackdown against employees of the Grand Alliance, including arrests, torture, and registration of cases, and expressed serious concern over these actions. The meeting also expressed sorrow over the fire incident at Haleem Plaza on Prince Road, Quetta, and demanded immediate compensation for the losses suffered by traders and shopkeepers.

Serious concern was expressed over excessive electricity load-shedding, acute gas pressure shortages, rising street crimes, theft, and robbery incidents in Quetta. The meeting severely criticized the performance of Sui Southern Gas Company, QESCO, and the police administration, urging the government to take strict notice of what it termed “anti-public” actions and ensure the provision of basic facilities.

The meeting also strongly condemned alleged unjustified raids by customs, excise, and other security agencies at various commercial centers in Quetta, during which vehicles and goods worth billions of rupees were reportedly seized from showrooms, markets, warehouses, and shops. The government was urged to immediately halt such actions.
