Balochistan CM Reviews Federal PSDP: Prioritizing Development for the People of Balochistan

QUETTA:A crucial review meeting on the **Federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP)** was held at the **Chief Minister’s Secretariat** under the chairmanship of **Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sardarfaz Bugit**. The meeting was attended by various high-ranking officials, including **Provincial Minister for Finance, Mir Shoyab Nosherwani**, **Minister for Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Baledi**, **Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan**, **Additional Chief Secretary Development, Hafeez Abdul Basit**, **Principal Secretary Babar Khan**, **Secretary Finance, Imran Zarkon**, **Government Spokesperson, Shahid Rand**, and other concerned officials.

The meeting’s main agenda was to review **Balochistan’s development priorities** and needs for the upcoming fiscal year, particularly focusing on **Federal PSDP projects**.

In his address, **CM Mir Sardarfaz Bugit** emphasized that priority should be given to **public welfare-based collective development projects** under the Federal PSDP. He pointed out that the proposed projects should not only be **sustainable** but also **directly benefit the people of Balochistan**.

He identified key areas for development, including **communications, energy, education, healthcare, irrigation, and clean drinking water projects**. He highlighted the **geographical challenges** and **land realities** of Balochistan, urging the **Federal Government** to provide special attention and funds for the province’s development.

He further added, “Allocating sufficient funds for **ongoing and new communication projects** is imperative, and this issue will be raised vigorously with the federal government.” CM Bugit also directed the concerned departments to ensure that the projects proposed for the **Federal PSDP** are not only **financially viable** but also have clear technical, financial, and social implementations, ensuring **timely execution** after approval.

“**Balochistan’s development** cannot solely depend on provincial resources,” said the Chief Minister, adding that it is essential for the province to **maximally utilize federal resources** for its progress. He instructed all departments to **finalize their planning** without delays and prepare **detailed recommendations** for submission to the federal authorities.

CM Bugit reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to taking every **possible step** for the welfare of the people, stressing that the **Federal PSDP** should align with the **vision** of development that prioritizes the needs of Balochistan’s citizens. He expressed hope that with better **preparation** and a **coordinated strategy**, Balochistan would secure **increased resources** in the upcoming **Federal PSDP** for the **next fiscal year**.

The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to ensuring that Balochistan’s key development projects are included in the **Federal PSDP** and adequately funded to address the province’s pressing infrastructure and social needs.
