**Karachi:** Pashtun neighborhoods in Karachi remain deprived of basic civic and human facilities, speakers said at a large gathering organized by the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) in Mehran Town to ensure the success of the party’s public rally scheduled for February 1 at Karachi’s Saddar area.
The gathering was addressed by PkNAP Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Zirey, Sindh Provincial Secretary Awwal Shafi Tareen, Sindh Provincial Committee member Sardar Asad Khan Kakar, and Haji Suleman Khan Yousafzai. The February 1 public meeting will be addressed by PkNAP Chairman Khushal Khan Kakar, Central Secretary General Khurshid Kakaji, and other senior leaders.
On the occasion, 150 political workers led by Haji Suleman Khan Yousafzai, Malik Ismatullah Kakori, Fazal Muhammad Shah, Gul Munir, Javed Khan, Nizam Khan, Hassan Akbar, Bakht Munir, Fayaz Khan, and Sharaf Khan Kakozai announced their formal joining of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party.
Addressing the gathering, speakers said that Karachi is the largest city in terms of Pashtun population, yet Pashtun-populated areas are deprived of basic necessities of life. They stated that children lack access to education, while adults are deprived of proper healthcare facilities. They added that Pashtun neighborhoods are also without paved roads, sewerage systems, and other essential civic services.
The speakers emphasized that the country benefits from the resources, minerals, and rivers of Pashtunkhwa, yet Pashtuns continue to face neglect and deprivation. Welcoming the new members, party leaders said their inclusion has strengthened the Pashtun national movement and reaffirmed that the party would make every sacrifice necessary to achieve the collective aspirations of its people.
They urged the public to participate in large numbers in the February 1 rally at Karachi Saddar to make it a success.
