PkMAP Slams Delay in Textbook Distribution, Urges Immediate Action by Education Minister

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly criticized the education department for failing to provide textbooks in government schools, calling it a serious act of negligence that has raised major concerns about the performance of the education system.
In a statement issued by the party’s Quetta district chapter, PkMAP noted that the education department had made tall claims in February regarding the timely distribution of textbooks across all districts, but these promises have not been fulfilled. As a result, parents have been forced to purchase expensive books from the market, placing an additional financial burden on them.
The statement highlighted that textbooks have yet to be delivered to schools in central areas of Quetta, as well as in suburban schools and other districts. This delay has disrupted the teaching process, with the academic syllabus still not formally commenced even by mid-April. The party warned that this could severely affect preparation for quarterly, mid-term, and annual examinations.
PkMAP further expressed concern that the situation is reinforcing the perception that public educational institutions are being deliberately neglected, turning education into a commercial enterprise and pushing parents toward private institutions. It termed this approach unjust and detrimental to the future of the nation.
The party demanded immediate provision of textbooks to all schools and called for strict departmental action against officials responsible for the negligence. It also urged the education minister to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure accountability, emphasizing that education is the foundation of any society and cannot be subjected to such carelessness.
