Quetta: Enforced Disappearances Issue Permanently Resolved Through Legislation, State Not Responsible for Self-Imposed Disappearances: CM Sarfraz Bugti

**Quetta:** Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated that the issue of missing persons has been permanently resolved through proper legislation, clarifying that the state cannot be held responsible if individuals choose to go into self-imposed disappearance.
Speaking at a meeting, the chief minister outlined the provincial government’s position on the issue of missing persons, saying that with the enactment of formal laws, the matter has been conclusively addressed. He emphasized that individuals who voluntarily associate themselves with militant or separatist organizations should not be linked to allegations of enforced disappearances by the state.
CM Bugti noted that, unfortunately, state institutions have long been blamed in this regard, but such narratives can no longer be used as a propaganda tool. He stressed that the government has established a clear legal framework, and misuse of the issue for political or propaganda purposes will not be justified.
He further added that an established mechanism already exists at the United Nations level to address concerns related to missing persons, and Pakistan is fully aware of and aligned with international procedures on the matter.
