UAE President Accepts Trump’s Invitation to Join ‘Board of Peace

**Islamabad:** President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the proposed ‘Board of Peace’.
According to a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has formally agreed to become a member of the Board of Peace established under the leadership of President Donald Trump.
A news agency reported that under the board’s charter, member states will serve for a maximum term of three years, with any extension subject to the approval of the chairperson.
UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed said the decision to join the Board of Peace reflects the importance of the full implementation of President Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which he described as crucial for securing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
According to international media reports, the United States has been urging various global leaders to join the Trump-led board, with a fee of one billion dollars set for a permanent seat.
Although the board was initially presented as a body to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction, its charter does not limit its scope solely to Gaza. Reports suggest that, based on official documents, the board could also seek to emerge as an alternative or rival to the United Nations.
The United Arab Emirates is a close US ally in the region and is among the few Arab countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Israel.
