No Jihad Against the State of Pakistan Is Permissible, Says Information Minister Attaullah Tarar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has stated that there is a unanimous consensus across the Muslim Ummah that no jihad can be waged against the state of Pakistan, emphasizing that terrorists who have been arrested or killed have no connection with Islam.
Addressing a conference of the National Message of Peace Committee, Tarar announced that the committee’s secretariat has been formally established. He highlighted the crucial role of religious scholars in promoting peace, stating that terrorism has no religion or nationality. The committee, he said, will continue to promote the narrative that extremists have no association with any faith.
The information minister reiterated that Islam is a religion of peace and that this message would be taken to every household. He said religious scholars have served the country in every era and stressed that the National Message of Peace Committee has been fully empowered to spread harmony and counter extremist ideologies.
Tarar said that during his visit to Peshawar, he would engage with scholars from all schools of thought to strengthen the peace narrative. “We are determined to eradicate terrorism from the country,” he said, adding that those involved in acts of terror are far removed from Islamic teachings.
He further claimed that extremist groups, including Fitna-e-Hindustan and Fitna-e-Kharij, are receiving foreign funding and are increasingly being exposed. He condemned attacks on innocent civilians and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting peace and stability across the country.
