Pakistan Expresses Concern Over Anti-Pakistan Incitement from PTI-Linked Account in UK, Calls for Enforcement of International Laws

United Kingdom: Pakistan has expressed serious concern over an incident of anti-Pakistan and violent incitement allegedly carried out through a social media account linked to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the United Kingdom.

According to sources, on December 23, 2025, a video shared from PTI UK’s X (formerly Twitter) account appeared to openly threaten protesters on British soil with a bomb attack against a senior Pakistani military official. The video reportedly featured a woman using violent language, which is being considered equivalent to incitement to terrorism.

Authorities have emphasized that this act falls neither under freedom of expression nor political dissent but constitutes clear provocation and encouragement of violence, in direct violation of both international law and the United Kingdom’s anti-terrorism regulations.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1373 obligates states to prevent terrorism, its financing, and incitement, while the UK’s Terrorism Act 2006 classifies encouragement of terrorism as a serious criminal offense.

Verified sources stated that Pakistan has formally conveyed its concern to the UK authorities, demanding identification of those involved, a thorough investigation, and legal action against the perpetrators.

Officials noted that the incident also serves as a test of how effectively the UK implements international law, its counter-terrorism obligations, and responsible state conduct.

The incident comes at a time when PTI has publicly advocated for dialogue and reconciliation. Critics, however, argue that such actions reflect an anti-state narrative and a double standard.
