PTI Founder’s Sisters Stage Sit-In Over Denied Meeting, Alima Khan Warns Against Negotiators

Rawalpindi: Alima Khan and PTI workers staged a sit-in near Adiala Jail after being denied a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan. Speaking to the media, Alima Khan said that the party leadership had received a clear message from Imran Khan that anyone advocating negotiations is not aligned with the founder’s party.

According to reports, checkpoints were established near Dahgal, Gorakhpur, and Factory areas in Rawalpindi, with heavy police presence deployed. Alima Khan, along with her sisters Dr. Azma Khan and Noreen Khan, reached Gorakhpur checkpoint and marched on foot toward the jail, but their vehicle was blocked. The three sisters eventually reached the Factory checkpoint with a smaller procession, where police sealed the road and prevented further movement.

Alima Khan criticized the authorities for restricting access to Imran Khan, claiming he is being kept in solitary confinement and subjected to mental torture. “They are afraid of the founder. They have violated the Constitution and the law. They cannot explain why Pakistan’s most popular leader is in solitary confinement,” she said.

She emphasized that the sit-in highlights the violation of their constitutional rights. “When the founder calls for protest, these people with stolen mandates immediately rush to negotiate. But before any negotiations, they must explain why they are preventing us from meeting him,” she added.

Alima Khan also rebuked media questions, suggesting journalists were directed to ask specific questions to create confusion. She stressed that PTI is acting within legal bounds and that any attempts to block dialogue with Imran Khan are unconstitutional.

The sit-in continues at the Factory checkpoint, with party workers joining the founder’s sisters in protest, demanding access and accountability regarding the leader’s detention.
